Torrevieja is known for its unique pink salt lakes, long promenades and lively atmosphere. A perfect destination for a day out with something for everyone. The pink color is most vivid during July-August.

The pink salt lakes of Torrevieja (Laguna Rosa - 1,400 hectares) are a natural phenomenon caused by Halobacterium bacteria and Dunaliella salina algae. IMPORTANT: Swimming is strictly prohibited with fines up to €6,000. You can walk around the lakes on free trails or take a guided tourist train tour (€9.50 adults) for the best views.

The promenades of Torrevieja stretch for kilometers along the coast. Ideal for walking, cycling or inline skating. Along the way you'll find countless restaurants, bars and ice cream shops. The famous Sirvent ice cream shop (established 1953) is a must-visit.
